Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 27, 2026
The privacy of your data is a big deal to us. In this policy, we lay out what data we collect and why, how your data is handled, and your rights with respect to your data. We promise we never sell your data: never have, never will.
This policy applies to the Anila website at anila.cloud (together, "Services"). Anila is operated by Plateau Digital LLC ("we", "our", or "us").
What we collect and why
Our guiding principle is to collect only what we need. Here's what that means in practice:
No accounts
Anila has no accounts and no sign-in. We do not collect your name, email address, or any other identifying information when you use it.
Analytics
We do not use analytics or tracking scripts.
Cookies and local storage
We use first-party cookies only for basic site functionality. We do not use cookies for advertising or cross-site tracking. Your browser's local storage remembers the forecast offices you looked at recently; that list stays on your device and is never sent to us.
Weather data and imagery
Anila displays products and imagery from the National Weather Service and other NOAA offices, drought maps from the U.S. Drought Monitor, and forecast models from the University of Washington Department of Atmospheric Sciences. Our server fetches text products on your behalf, but your browser loads much of the imagery directly from those sites, which may log standard web request information (such as your IP address) according to their own privacy policies.
Server logs
Like most websites, our servers record standard request information, such as your IP address, browser type, and the page you asked for, so that we can keep the Services secure and diagnose problems.
Voluntary correspondence
When you email us with a question or to ask for help, we keep that correspondence, including your email address, so that we have a history of past correspondence to reference if you reach out in the future.
When we access or disclose your information
We do not disclose your information to third parties except when required by law. If U.S. law enforcement authorities have the necessary warrant, criminal subpoena, or court order requiring us to disclose data, we must comply. We will notify affected users before we disclose data unless we are legally prohibited from doing so.
Your rights with respect to your information
You have the right to request access to, correction of, or deletion of any personal information we hold about you, including any correspondence with us. Please contact us at hello@plateau.digital with any such requests.
How we secure your data
All data is encrypted via SSL/TLS when transmitted from our servers to your browser.
Data retention
We keep personal information only as long as we need it to provide the Services. Voluntary correspondence is retained as long as needed to provide support and then deleted.
Location of site and data
Our Services are operated in the United States. If you are located outside of the United States, please be aware that any information you provide to us will be transferred to and stored in the United States.
Changes and questions
We may update this policy as needed to comply with relevant regulations and reflect any new practices. Whenever we make a significant change to this policy, we will refresh the date at the top of this page.
Have any questions, comments, or concerns about this privacy policy, your data, or your rights with respect to your information? Please get in touch by emailing us at hello@plateau.digital and we'll be happy to try to answer them.
